The transaction code for Data Staging in SAP BW is RSDS. RSDS is used in SAP BW to load data from multiple sources into the data warehouse and create a staging area. It allows you to easily plan, monitor and control multiple data sources. It is also used to define and maintain transfer rules, maintenance of the data sources, and the monitoring and debugging of loads.

Replication of DataSources - SAP Help Portal
Relevancy Factor: 670.0The metadata of SAP source systems is independent of BW metadata. There is no implicit assignment of objects using identical names. In the source system, information is only retained if it is required for data extraction. Replication allows you to make the relevant metadata known in BW so that data can be read more quickly. The assignment of source system objects to BW objects takes place exclusively and centrally in BW.

Relevancy Factor: 510.0Since SAP NetWeaver 7.0, new concepts and technologies are available for the data flow. These include the data transfer process, the transformation and the new DataSource (object type R3TR RSDS). If you want to benefit from these new features while working with an existing data flow, we recommend switching to the new concepts and technology. An interface is available for creating and executing migration projects for automated migration (transaction RSMIGRATE).
