Glossary/Terms related to SCD3
Sequence of formatting commands for a document for a particular paper format (such as A4).
A convention for the layout of texts and documents. Documents of the same type should have an identical format.
A part step of conversion that determines how individual fields are edited so that so that a valid SAP data format exists. &EXAMPLE& For currency: The external format $ is formatted as USD in SAP data format.
A status you can assign to objects or infotype records in Personnel Management. The status "planned" means that an object or infotype record has been suggested, but is not yet usable (active). You can edit objects or infotype records with the status "planned".
Planned
SBO - SAP Business One (SBO)The quantity of component (child) items required for production. This is calculated as the base quantity multiplied by the quantity of finished products. "Planned" is a field in a production order.
Hub
MOB - SAP Mobile Cloud (MOB-CLD)A central location that allows you to send Notification Services.
Hub
NW - SAP NetWeaverA system whose purpose is to connect multiple systems in a system landscape and provide services centrally. Examples: Master-data hub, BI system running as an Enterprise Data Warehouse
Dimension
BI - SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for OLAP (BI-RA-AWB)A data object that represents categorical data in a dataset. &Example& Products Sales
A grouping of those evaluation groups (characteristics) that belong together under a common superordinate term. With the definition of an InfoCube, characteristics are grouped together into dimensions in order to store them in a star schema table (dimension table).
Dimension
CA - SAP Enterprise Dashboard (CA-EPT-EC)An attribute derived from a dataset. It structures the dataset and can be used to get insights into key figures by filtering or drilling.
Dimension
CRM - Collaborative E-Care Management (CRM-CEC)An attribute that can be used to group records in a table and provide context to a fact. &EXAMPLE& Dimensions for a laboratory test could include the type of test conducted, the care provider who ordered the test, and the date on which the test was conducted.
Dimension
DWC - Data Warehouse Cloud - Modeling (Data Builder)(DWC-MD) Used to group data whose content is logically connected.
A specific characteristic in group reporting. A specific dimension can represent one or more consolidation types, such as company consolidation, business area consolidation, or profit center consolidation. Each dimension has its own organizational units and control parameters. However, all dimensions share the same consolidation charts of accounts and consolidation versions. Multiple dimensions can be analyzed together by using validations and reports.
Dimension
EIM - SAP Information Steward (EIM-IS)A logical grouping of characteristics within an InfoCube.
Dimension
EP - Visual Composer (EP-VC)A collection of similar data which, together with other such collections, forms the structure of a cube. Typical dimensions include time, product, and geography. Each dimension may be organized into a basic parent-child hierarchy or, if supported by the data source, a hierarchy of levels. For example, a geography dimension might include levels for continent, country, state, and city.
Dimension
EPM - SAP Spend Performance Management (EPM-SA)An analysis function that provides the means of "slicing and dicing" data in a data warehouse. The primary function of dimensions is to enable filtering and grouping, and to provide structured labeling informmation to otherwise unsorted numeric measures. A dimension usually contains a hierarchy of related members, creating parent, child, and sibling relationships among the members. For example, "Customer", "Date", and "Product" are all dimensions that can be meaningfully applied to a sales receipt. Another example: In a data warehouse where each person is categorized as having a gender of male, female or unknown, a user of the data warehouse would then be able to filter or categorize each presentation or report by either filtering based on the gender dimension or displaying results broken down by gender.
A single field or column of a table, within General Ledger. Dimensions are used when creating the General Ledger coding block. Examples of dimensions are Company Account Cost center Product
Dimension
GRC - SAP Audit Management (GRC-AUD)An element of the auditee’s organization, process, or any freely defined characteristic that can be assigned to an auditable item to determine the risk score.
Dimension
IS - SAP Sports One (IS-SE-SPS)An attribute that helps you analyze and create meaning out of numerical data. For example, in an analytical tool like SAP Analytics Cloud, you may want to generate insights into the total number of goals scored by your soccer team during a season. You have the total number of goals (numerical data) and now you apply dimensions (attributes) to the data, such as "Name of the goal scorer" and "Minute when goal was scored". As a soccer coach this analysis could help you identify which of your strikers are the most effective during the last ten minutes of a match.
A size, with which units of measure are grouped. There are seven base dimensions, to which all other dimensions can be traced: Length, weight, time, electrical current, temperature, molecular mass and brightness. &EXAMPLE& Length: Units: meter, centimeter, inch, etc. Time: Units: Second, minute, hour, etc. Temperature: Units: Degrees Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin Measurement units of the same dimension can be converted (Example: 1 meter = 100 centimeters).
Dimension
LOD - SAP Analytics Cloud (LOD-ANA)A data object that represents categorical data (for example, product category, date, or location).
Dimension
LOD - SAP Vehicle Insights (LOD-IOT-VEIN)Any column in an analytical view that contains data you can group for aggregation. You can use the following types of dimensions: Dimensions defined based on related master data Derived dimensions, such as road type which is derived from the geo-location of a vehicle
Dimension
MFG - Digital Manufacturing Insights (MFG-DM-MI)A list of parameters, based on the content available in the dashboard.
Dimension
SBO - SAP Business One (SBO)XL Reporter: Transaction data that has underlying tables (master data) in the SAP Business One database.
Dimension
SCM - Asset Central Foundation (SCM-AIN-ACF)A measuring criteria to monitor the model or equipment.
Dimension
SCM - Sales & Operations Planning (SCM-SOP)A discrete category of data such as a product or resource. Dimensions are used to segment planning data. For example, a consumer goods company may want to understand sales based on the dimensions Product, Customer, and Location. A dimension can have many attributes. For example, the dimension Product might have the attributes Product ID, Product Family, and Product Description.
Dimension
SRD - CRO-Analytics (SRD-CC-ANA)A criterion by which characteristics are categorized.
Dimension
SRD - SCM-Master Data (SRD-SCM-MD)The measurement of the length, width, and height of an object.
dimension type
CA - Demand Data FoundationA categorization for analyzing master data. Dimension types facilitate analyses in multi-dimensional InfoCubes at a specific level of layering, for example, two-dimensional or three-dimensional. Examples of dimension types include the following: Product Geography Time Measure Hierarchy For example, you can analyze master data by both product attributes and store attributes simultaneously, which would be a two-dimensional analysis.
dimension type
EPM - EPM IM Flying Profit&Loss (Leopard) (EPM-IM-FPL)(EPM-IM-FPL) A category of dimension with specific functionality or properties. &Example& A time dimension, an account dimension, or a role dimension.
The setting the sales manager makes to indicate that the opportunity is not progressing at a reasonable speed. The movement of the progress of the opportunity is measured in days.
Slow
SRD - CRM-Opportunities (SRD-CRM-OPP)Indicating the progress of an opportunity. An opportunity is allowed to remain in a sales phase for a predefined number of days before it is said to be slow. If the sales phase is not changed within this time period, the opportunity is slow.

Relevancy Factor: 1.0Yes, I'm using History Preserving as I have to create new version rows only when important modifications were made in the Customers (in the example) source table.
"I think what you actually trying to do is apply SCD3 (column based) logic, where you update all versions of a record's column with what ever the current value is. The only way I've discovered how to achieve this is by using a script to call a DB function/procedure."

Relevancy Factor: 1.0Here I am trying to explain the methods to implement SCD types in BO Data Service. The different types of slowly changing dimension types are given below.
"This will be a left outer join and the Source will be the outer source and the target is the inner source. This join will based on the name column on the both side.(Source.name = SCD3.name)"

Relevancy Factor: 1.01- Using SCD2 you can save unlimited history with the help of the Surrogate Key . In this structure of the table will never be effected(constant) only the no of the rows will be effected(will be increased) and to prevent the duplication of data ,primary key will be used .
