You can use a check to determine whether the role of a specific business partner can be restricted to a specific time period. You must check whether this business partner role is otherwise used in the (contract) data positions in Account Management or in other applications that use the same business partner data position.

Is it possible to have both figure and letter in one material number? Is it possible to restrict manual number entering into each letter or figure? Do you ever have this kind of doubt?

Yes, this problem can be solved, but you need to write some custom code for it.

There is no possibility to assign a BP role to a number range, the reason for this is to avoid inconsistencies as a business partner can have multiple roles, and if different roles were assigned to different groupings and subsequently different number ranges, that a case could arise were you would have the same BP with different roles with different numbers.

"While generating the number for the BP, the code first checks if the application wants to implement any special conditions. For this, there are two events called BPNUM and BPNEX ( in transaction BUPA_EVENTS)."
